loose ceiling lights and dialectic grease

Probably an off the wall question but here goes: I purchased LED replacement lights for my RV. And like the OEM bulbs the LED bulbs loosen regularly and therefore go out. Now they don't fall out but I have to continually push them up tighter. The question is how can I reduce this necessity? Will the grease help?

  • Use a PINPRICK size dot of GOOP® adhesive to hold the bulb in place, but not on the pins. Use the GOOP as a bridge between lamp base to fixture base. The stuff is almost unbelievable as an adhesive.
  • What style of base does the lamps have?
The standard bayonet style socket can be bent slightly to tighten them up.
The wedge style is a little harder to do. You can bend the wires on the lamp outward slightly.
The grease will not help hold the lamps in place.
The grease will help continuity against corrosion. I use it on all my exterior lamps.
