loss power 96 Winnebago vectra gmc

Well...it's my year
Driving down the road...engine coughs once or twice and boom no engine, now brakes, no power steering.....will turn over but sounds like timing is off so bad it won't start at all...gotta get er towed.any thought s other than getting another rv...
  • Let a mechanic check it before you hit the panic button. Maybe it's something relatively simple and inexpensive.
  • Not to be a bearer of bad news but I think GM used to use phenolic timing gear sets that were known to fail.
  • Borrow a code ready from O'Reilly auto parts or auto zone.
Sounds like a crankshaft or cam shaft position sensor.
    Test it first
  • If the timing actually sounds like it's off then it likely skipped or broke the timing chain.
Fortunately not a huge job but in a MH it will be hard to get to.
