Cylinder inspection intervals are determined by the US DOT. The re-inspection interval depends on the method of inspection.

Tanks do not have re-certification requirements. ASME/NFPA jurisdiction. Tanks can be any size.....11 gallons to 5000 gallons.
Motorhomes have TANKS (permanently mounted)
Cylinders (if portable regardless of size) do have re-certification requirement and are under DOT jurisdiction. TTs, TCs, FWs, have portable cylinders.
