LP TANK DATE STAMP ?

From date of LP tank mfg, how much time until the tank can not be refilled before being recertified? My DW did a tank exchange and I just realized the mfg, date is 01-07 on the exchange tank which I now need to fill. I can do another tank exchange but hate to. Anyone remember?

12 years on new tank then 5 years after first recertification.

Unless stamped differently by manufacture.

Our newest tanks are stamped by manufacture to re-cert in 10 years.

Maybe cheaper metal used on newer ones?

Is the twelve year date a nation wide thing or state by state? Anybody know?
