LPG Regulator whine or hum

This only happens when I use the LPG bottle that is connected to the single red regulator not tied into the change-over valve. Replacement the only option? chino

the spring and diaphragm are doing their job causing harmonic vibration.
  • Mine did the same thing. Replaced it and shortly after it started again.I've learned to ignore it now.
  • I had the same issue on my Cougar (2008), I purchased a replacement regulator and changed it out, worked perfect.

What I did notice, there was at least an ounce of oil in the bad regulator. I didn't see it at first when I placed it on the tailgate of my truck but an hour later I notice the puddle of oil. Had I noticed before I put the new regulator on i might have tried putting it back on as a test to see if it was the oil.

  • RED regulator on off side propane cylinder is a single stage regulator used to drop cylinder pressure down from roughly 200# to 30# before going across 5vr to changeover/main regulator (which reduces system pressure to 0.4# --- 11" WC)

    THEY do fail....common problem
    Not serviceable.
