The suspense is killing me, too!
For on-the-road use I have a four-way about 24" across that I guess you'd call Light/Medium Truck. Fits our Ford E-Series lug nuts and has a couple larger sizes plus a square for lugs. A good thing about it is that it's made of steel thick enough that it doesn't twist itself like 1/2" extensions and light four-ways for cars.
OH, Went back and looked at the photo of the broken tool. Looked old and rusted which probably doesn't help. But it's also one of those double-enders with a hole through it for a drive bar. That's a weakened tool going after a fastener who's playing hard-to-get.
