The Intake is towards the Front. You said it COULD have been the problem
Was it?
I’d like to be able to confirm but my ceiling cover has intakes on the sides and air vents front and back (if I’m understanding what you mean by intakes).
Looks exactly like this one.

This intake I guess you could put it on 180 degrees wrong, but it still would work.
This could have been the problem. Last season, before I parked the TT, there was a leak around the AC. I took all of the plastic inside off to find it and reassembled.
This year, When I found the unit to be running in “reverse“, I disassembled it again.
When I put it all back together, it’s certainly possible I rotated the ceiling cover which could have been the problem the whole time............
Live and learn.
I am telling you this is your problem. You did not install the separator gasket correctly. There is nothing by taking the INSIDE parts down and loose would cause the fan to run in reverse. The separator gasket is critical to be installed to seperate the Intake from the exhaust(Cold) air. I am giving you 41 years of RV Tech experiance. I have NEVER in 41 years had a RV roof AC motor run in reverse. I have worked and fixed thousands of RV AC units in that 41 years. Doug
