Magic Chef refrigerator cooling issues

I have a 2025 Forest River Signature Series 8339FK. It has a Magic Chef fridge model # MCDCR18FBG. It has french doors and a drawer freezer on the bottom.  The fridge tends to wander between its set temp of 36 degrees to 48 to 54 degrees even when the door is not opened for periods of time.  It may stay at this temp for several hours and then go back down fairly quickly to set temp. The freezer is set at -3 degrees and that tends to go up to 9 to 14 above on occasion.  It tends to do what it wants. Anyone been having similar issues where you could provide some tips and tricks?  Thank you.

  • Could be a bad thermistor or poor ventilation behind the unit. If it's under warranty I would let the dealer handle it.

Agree! Doing anything might cancel warranty on fridge.

Seems like plenty of airflow from the floor up to fridge.   There is also a porthole outside the fridge to get to the ice maker water line. The inconsistency in temp was noticeable after towing it for 7 or so hours.  It was running from my truck electricity to the batteries to run the fridge.  Then the temp went up again after 3 days camping plugged into 50 amp.
