Comparing features is interesting as well. They both let you set a maximum AC input current so you won't overload the little 2000i generators or your 15 amp house outlet. They both have temperature compensated 4 stage battery charging. The Vic can add a maximum of 13 amps power assist to what ever your generator is providing. If I limit the shore input to 12amps so I don't overload my little 2000i I can have a total of 25amps to start my Coleman Mach3+. With the optional start cap installed in parallel with the run cap my inrush current is supposed to be around 20 amps so were within spec. Determining the Mag power assist is more complicated as they give far more detailed specs for outputs but don't list a max for the power assist. The stated maximum AC outputs are 25amps continuous, 70amps 1 ms, 40 amps 100ms, and 32.5amps for 5 seconds. We should be past compressor start up at this point. They also state max DC input as 400amps. Sounds to me like it does more power assist.
