BMK-Meter - Reflected 124A going in
Back to the Display - Indicated Bulk and 92A
The BMK uses a shunt on the battery terminal and should have a accurate value of battery amps.
The display is trying to indicate how many amps the Magnum is outputting and this value is the sum of amps that are used by house loads and battery charging. Note that for very low house loads then most of the charger amps go to the battery.
Then the Magnum display may also not be very accurate (mine is not) and my quoted post above reflects what I found out from Magnum.
So for a KISS example. With the BMK-Meter showing +124A and say an idle draw from the Inverter side feeding 6-7A into the coach - that would mean the Charger was outputting 130-131 Amps?
And with the above quote of your previous post, which I appreciated because I had not seen that, the ARC-50's Status screen of Bulk and Voltage and 92A - is really just gee whiz info, as the Amps are a calculated value? And are basically meaningless for battery management, other then perhaps the Bulk/Absorb/Float/Full Charge current cycle.
Interesting to know, and dang if I ever caught that in the various Manual's I've read of late:)!
Kind of interesting today. Checked after sitting on the Shore Power all night. SOC reflected 95%, voltage reflected 12.91V and Status screen reflected Full Charge. With the blinking Charge LED indicating on standby. (As this will only be the third cycle of the batteries being drawn down some, and then charged to full again, I do not feel the SOC displayed is accurate yet - as now back in Auto for Efficiency, it's still learning this bank.)
Draining another -200Amps via the Inverter with no Shore Power feeding the 1500W heater. Then going to plug in Shore Power (Solar Controller is Off.) and monitor Bulk/Absorb run times, and ignore the displayed Amps on the Status Screen:)!
Once it indicates it's in Float mode. I'm going to lower the Equalize Voltage down to 14.4V, and run a 3 hour Equalize at the 14.4V. This I hope, should get me to truly 'Full Charge', and I'll reset Total Amps for the battery bank, as well as SOC. And then let the Efficiency Auto setting learn more from their.
Have not yet heard back from Magnum, but I sent an email to a tech I'd worked with about a year ago with some questions on the SBC. So because I did not go thru the normal contact of Sensa for help, perhaps he will not respond. I'll give it until tomorrow, and if I have not heard from him I'll call and make a request for Tech Support, and review my questions with whomever they assign:)!
And due to taxes, not ours but helping the family members now, I have not dug out my notes and manual on the MidNite Classic150 yet... Maybe this weekend, who knows:)!
Best to all,
Smitty
