main breaker breaks when i shut the generator off.

when i shut the generator off main breaker breaks every time.
i have a kill switch and it kills everything, even the dash cigarette lighter.

my motor home is a
37 foot 2000 itasca suncruiser

i am asking for some guidance on where i should look to solve this.

    Your suppose to shut down all major electrical power consumers b4 you shut down generator. Are you doing that?

    Don't use the kill switch, whatever that is, shut off the generator maybe with the prime side of the generator switch.
