Wow! Lots of interesting information. I'm the OP so let me rephrase and add additional details.
The problem is: when we turn on the microwave with the AC running, after 30 seconds or more, the main in-coach 30 amp breaker trips. Additional details:
The problem is: when we turn on the microwave with the AC running, after 30 seconds or more, the main in-coach 30 amp breaker trips. Additional details:
- The AC is already running so I don't think it's an AC startup load issue
- I replaced the breaker last year which seemed to improve but did not prevent the issue
- This has happened in a half a dozen campgrounds
- This weekend, we were in a 25% populated Maine campground with brand new 30/50 service in a shiny new electrical box
- We did have two larger 50 amp coaches on each side of us.
- The outside temperature was in the upper 70's
- I looked at the blades in the 30 amp plug and they don't seem to be pitted, but the are certainly not pristine.
- After we got home tonight I tried the same test but running on generator, it did not trip
- I have hosed off the AC condenser but will be getting some cleaner and cleaning them as suggested
- I don't have a accurate AC voltage meter or surge protector but am gong to investigate getting one.
