There are two by two types of breakers
One "Thermal" or "Magnetic" (Some are both) These get hot they won't reset. They should, however NEVER get that hot. Though if the sun is shining and the box is black.. Can happen.
The other Magnetic, also should not get hot.
The other two are GFCI/Non GFCI
A GFCI will not reset without power Nor will it remain re-set if the ground fault is still present.
However that type should NEVER be used as a "main" breaker.
Recommendation,, While not plugged in and while running entierly on battery (INVERTER if any OFF), make sure ALL SCREWS inside the breaker box are TIGHT and all breakers are well seated.
