Cause of the wire problem was probably a loosened connection and the high draw of the microwave. There can be a tremendous amount of heat generated when wires start arcing, trying to complete the circuit.

BTW, your pictures aren't viewable for me. Maybe you can fix that and make them smaller, i.e. 640 wide so we don't have to scroll the page.
Thanks i will look into getting some of those connectors. I think i should just redo all the connections in that junction box. Sorry about the pictures, i had a tough time loading them. I edited the size so you may be able to see them now.
