Be aware that as charging amps decrease/battery is charged, there will be less voltage drop if a smaller gauge wire is used.
Suspect your OE wire has low voltage drop ONLY at very low charging rates. Fine for maintaining charge. TERRIBLE FOR QUICKLY CHARGING THE BATTERY.
Said another way, if you do much dry camping and are running a generator to power the converter to charge the batteries, upgrade wire gauge NOW.
If you are generally plugged into shore power, upgrading wire is s lot less critical.
