Manufacturers saving a few cents on wire

Lately I have been looking into getting better battery recharge time performance. When I looked into the cabinet housing the converter charger I found something odd. There are 8 AWG wires about 1 ft long attached to the breakers on the IOTA. At the end of this 12 inch wire Jayco has attached a 10 AWG wire to run the 20 feet up to the batteries. Were they really saving that much by running 10 AWG wire instead of 8 AWG?

  • They do not care about recharge rates. Never have. The wiring they use will do the job. Doug
