Master cylinders frequently leak internally
No fluid gained or lost. Believe your light and your common sense. For emphasis run your finger down into the fluid and rub the bottom of the chamber. Now look at your finger. Is it black? Black is decomposed seals inside on the piston rod. Use wisdom. The cylinder will eventually fail and you will have no brakes. This is a common problem BTW.
