Maxxfan repair. Fixed for now.
An intermittent fault on a switch on our 4 year old Maxxfan has finally failed completely. I am 99% sure it is the micro switch on the lid that has failed. I am familiar with this type of micro switch and in fact have repaired one in the stick house. If I find it unrepairable I'll just jumper it for now if I can't find a replacement down here.
My question is how do I get to it :h I have a problem with my right hand at the moment and will need the help of non technical DW. I don't want to get it halfway apart and get stuck. :E
Can I do if from the inside? Remove the knobs (how, just pull or are there set screws--can't see.) Pull the 4 corner screws, then what happens?
I don't want to go in from the top as it is screwed and caulked to the roof. My hand isn't up to that yet. (Arthritis and tendonitis)
We really need this fan--it's hot down here! :C
