Most of that type fans have a common DC fan Motor, which can be run in reverse by just changing the polarity. AT YOUR OWN RISK, you could try just disconnecting the wires and reversing them. If it runs backward, great! If it smokes or throws sparks, it doesn't work. One more thing to consider, some fan blades have an airfoil to improve the efficiency of the fan. It might run backwards, but may have a lesser airflow.
