As long as the appearance is somewhat sanitized into a clean and functional package. Landy's unit has that Rube Goldberg look to it. Yes I understand form follows function, but I kind of believe that MX helped some of us turn a sow's ear 12V PSU into a silk purse manual battery charger.
Without the help of others here, I never would have plunked down for a MegaWatt, or for that matter, a lightly used Teleco battery for huge savings for what I ended up with. Being inventive with indirect applications while appearing very frugal makes me a happy camper. Makes it easier to have some extra money left for diesel fuel to go on longer trips further from home, while not going over budget.
