no need to discharge the batteries the day before
just connect the inverter and turn on a load greater than the max output of your solar
the solar will be putting out max all day trying to keep up with the load , which will gradually out pace the solar and by evening your batteries will be partially discharged and you can recharge the next day
doing it this way on the 21st will give you a max solar reading ( if the weather co-operates )
today i got 1007.5 wHrs / 76.14 Ahrs, sunny and cold ( calif cold )
