Hey now! Settle down! Just because I turned 55 yesterday and I'm now entitled to a senior discount on my MickieD's coffee does not mean I am senior in experience on Travel Trailer TP operatives and systems, keeping the tanks clean and free of mounds.

Add 5 gallons pure water, drive, rinse, repeat. That seems to be the gist, it's not the paper, it's flush, fill, shake and bake that seems to clean the best. Mountain roads up and down preferred for a ring free black water tank.

I like my TP soft.
We use 2 ply plush, soft TP
And I use a wad.........

Haven't had a problem...not a one....from using any brand of TP I want to use.
The stuff falls down into tank with a helping hand from the weight of water in toilet bowl. Then it gets carried out with the helping hand of the weight of water in the tank. 3" line in----3" line out and short runs.

Where as in a home......long runs, graduated slope and very little water to carry it the full length of run. And I never had blockage problems in the house either.

People make way too much fuss over TP.
Buy what you want..use what you want.
TP is NOT the problem.
Water is the key....period

Just wanted to see if he/she could get educated on using the forum search function!

In my experience, we have learned to use single-ply only. It seems to breakdown better than two-ply.

I only care that the last indicator marking "full" works and so far it always has.
Use same paper as at home.

And remember most tanks only read in 1/4 increments. So you can go from being 1/2 full one minute to bing 3/4 full after someone flushes the toilet and then back to 1/2 full if you park slightly off level with the tank leaning away from the gauge. I recently read on the forum of someone's tanks only reading in 1/3 increments. So most gauges aren't very accurate regardless of how clean they are.

I don't care what kind of TP we use as long as it's soft! The easiest way to clean the tank is to fill it with some water and drive around and then dump. About sensors, your "instinct" is your best sensor. Get a "gauge" on how much your tank holds and then make sure you dump on a schedule when camping. I quit using electronic sensors years ago. Common sense drives a better solution. (I dump every day when camping. If on full hooks up, I'll add water. If not full hook-up, I'll backflush the gray water tank into the black water tank and dump the black again into my tote. But when leaving or driving to the next destination, put 4 or 5 gallons of water in the tank to slosh around real good.)

As you now know, you have a holding tank, not a septic tank.

First, your "tank" is not a septic system, merely a holding tank until you can empty it. If you do the TP desolve test in a glass of water, you can decide if it will work for you. Don't understand the concern with "clean" black tanks, empty it, flush and reuse. Been doing this for 24 years and have never seen an intank level system that's accurate. YMMV
