Metal valve stems

I think I'd go finer than 80 grit probably 240 for a smoother finish, and I'd use a stone rather than emery paper, or a flat backing behind the emery paper.. Too much chance of removing more than just the high spot.

Most important. Remove valve them.

Shine area around hole in wheel with 80-grit emery. Outside and inside

Check smoothness with finger. The slightest bump has to be made smooth

Silicone dielectric GREASE makes for a good sealant

If you take your time and really buff out the flanges where the tire meets the wheel, then paint the inside of the wheel with red electrical insulation varnish (spray paint) it seals the rim and the rivets. Makes for the very best seal and the slowest air leakage.

not sure about brands but amazon has them and gemplers online is where I bought them the last time .
