microlite 2.8KV
Onan Microlite KV - model 2.8KVFA26100K - spec K
Generator was starting and running 120 no load 115 load for 20 minutes and would die. Gradually reduced running time to under 2 minutes.
Now will start and run only with the start button down. Initially would do this and produce voltage - now produces no voltage.
I have cleaned the slip rings and replaced the brushes. I cleaned the brush block (brushes were not stuck) the block is not cracked or damaged so reused it.
I had the rotor and stator megged at a service shop and both tested good.
I tested the VR and according to book it is good (But can still be bad.
Ran 12 volts through pin 9 and grounded pin 10 of the generator side of the VR connection - no volts.
This is supposed to bypass the VR - what have I Missed???????????
Thanks,
Robert Davis
