By the way, your larger champion (assuming it's a standard constant-speed contractor sort of generator) does not generate a modified sine wave. It generates a more or less pure sine wave the old fashioned way, by rotating a coil through a magnetic field, which incidentally is the same way the utilities generate sine wave power on a much larger scale. Unless the laws of trigonometry change or you have a funky load, it can't really do otherwise.
