FWIW:
I just bought a WEN 56200i inverter generator rated 1600/ 2000 peak. ($380 on WOOT) I needed a good sized load to try it out today so I plugged my Kill-A-Watt meter into it and plugged the camper (w/adapter) into the meter. The converter was the only thing running. I put a large cup of water in my microwave and ran it. The meter showed 1585 watts and the overload light on the generator would blink randomly (mostly off). The microwave ran just fine. The sticker inside the microwave door shows 1,000 watt heating and power consumtion 1.5 Kw. The voltage did drop from 123 VAC to 119 VAC. ECO switch on generator was off.
Maybe those numbers will help someone. I am pleased with my new toy.
