Monitor Voltage
Received my backup camera and monitor today. Monitor says it requires 9 Volts DC. Since my TV is 12 volts, would it damage the monitor to wire the trucks 12 volts to it, or do I need to place a resistor in the circuit?

- Surely you knew it would run on 12-15 volts before you bought it ??
- 9 volts would appear to be the minimum. Do not run it on 9v supply.

- Watch for voltage dropout tolerance. 12 volts in may not reach 12 volts at the source. Check before jumping in with both feet. Air conditioning load (chassis) plus other loads can draw down some accessory feed points into the 11 volts and change territory. A two volt or greater dropout differential is not uncommon.

12v to 9v only needs a 3v adjustment- Ok, I'll be the bad guy. Does the manual say anything about that?
- I would just get a 12 volt adapter that can select for 9.
