I've tried to research what happens to voltage as light intensity increases. I've not had any luck doing so. Have you bumped into a page that documents this? The only pages I have found say that voltage is fairly insensitive to light levels.
Voltage does drop with increased temperature, so in warmer climates that might by a consideration for series wiring.
I can tell you that at dawn nothing much happens on the fixed panel installation of the Uni-Solar US 64 wired for 33 volts.
On October 9th sunrise here was 7:11 a.m. The panels clicked in at 0.1 amp shortly before 9 a.m.
