also, i have been reconditioning the old batteries, the ones I RE-installed last week in a new spot on the opposite of the RV
using the B&D de-sulfating mode and equalizing mode on them during the day
alternating between the (2) modes
equalizing / charging when the generator was running (morning & evening) and De-sulfating during the day , This was done with them disconnected them from the 6v bank and Isolated
I powered the B&D in DS mode from the inverter, the inverter was powered by the (4) 6v's connected to the Solar controller the (4) 12v's where isolated,
the B&D recondition-DS mode, increased the inverter draw by 2amps DC power, so the DS mode uses approx 26 > 28watts 2amps at 13v > 14v
I didn't mind sacrificing a few ampHrs of the Solar charge ability to power the B&D to attempt to rejuvenate the 2yr old batteries that had been sitting unused since OCT, at least they were fully charged when I stored them and Occasionally bumped up with a trickle charger
anyway it appears to be working, last night at 7:30pm the 12v bank voltage was 12.95 after yesterdays treatment
this morning at 9am the reading was 12.76 indicating fully charged and not self discharging any appreciable amount (surface charge dissipation ? )
I gave them one more day of treatment today, this time equalizing finally went to the full mark about mid afternoon and i followed that with another DS round,
then connected the banks together for the supper time/evening charge
in the morning i will see what the voltage reading of the combined banks are after a night of normal use and get an idea of how they perform together
