The unisolars are made to be stuck flush to roof surfaces with no intervening ventilation, or so says Unisolar. And I have found nothing from Unisolar that derates their panels because of this.
While they would certainly conduct more heat through that a raised panel, which has both airflow and shade effect, this shouldn't be an issue unless your roof is as poorly insulated as mine is. But then again, it's bare aluminum, dirty and dark with age, so I'm nut sure the black panels would be any worse for heat absorption.
IMO, for a flat-roof mount, these things are the way to go. They are MUCH lighter, less vulnerable to rocks, hail and branches, and they are comparitively more efficient at high-angle (flat) installs. The downside used to be the high cost, and still is the lower sdensity of power production.
Congrats, Wiz, and keep laying on the Unisolars. I'm jealous as heck--that setup has "easy" written all over it.
