Yeah, I'm just wondering what to expect from two 140 watt (poly) panels. I just picked them up two days ago, and now I need to get things set-up, even if only temporary, to see how they do this time of year.
? What's special about Mr. Wizard's panels that they do so well in low light?
At STC expect to get the panels' total Isc. Here that doesn't happen until late-April. There are maps and calculators etc to get your insolation for your Latitude and time of year. You need STC of 1. If not at STC you get fewer amps.
Since you can't control the weather, you can at least compare disconnected Isc with the amps at the battery when connected no matter what the Isc of the moment is. They should be very nearly the same.
(You have to do that comparison when there are no clouds rushing by between your two measurements.)
That will bowl out any wiring issues and once you have that sorted out, then there is nothing more you can do. (unless you do "tracking." ) You get what you get on any given day. It is isn't enough, then out comes the generator.
