I am quite familiar with the movements of the Sun, and agree there is less need to track during late fall, early winter; especially around the time of the winter solstice. A good southern tilt is in order at this time. Indeed, tracking comes more into play as the Sun moves further north and south throughout the rest of the year.
I can see me possibly installing a 560w roof mounted hybrid solar-hydronic heat/cooling system, in the future. The hoses (and wiring) would go down thru the fridge vent, and provide fridge cabinet heating, (and possibly under-floor heating) in winter, and by way of diversion, cooling for the panels in summer.
On that note, any ideas on how warm the panels get on a cold sunny day?
