Yes. Mine did. It actually ran at 1050w a few times, showing its overload light each time, but then it fried some components when I kept doing that. (RIP)
Lesson is to not push it so hard. It was quite happy running a kettle at 900w. (Of course you don't need PSW to run a kettle.)
Northern Tools (sp?) has the same inverter in their line-up. Can Tire and NT must get them from the same place in China.
