- Dennis12ExplorerDid you try anyrvparts.com 800-237-4318 ? I had a 1985 coachman and i called them on different occasions for different items that i could find nowhere and they had them. They have a dinosaur department that they found my parts. It's worth a try.Hope this helps
- azrvingExplorerBefore you even guess at buying any capacitor go to an ac supply house and they will usually test it for you. If you do have to replace the ac unit it isn't all bad. New ones are usually more efficient, quieter and lower profile. You dont necessarily need a new inner grill either depending on models.
When my compressor conked out I was ticked and thinking here goes $600 more dollars but in the end I was impressed at how well the new one works. No, I wouldn't just replace it to get this better performance but it did lessen the pain. I was going to buy on line but the guys at CW said I didn't need the new grill which saved me $125 so I bought the ac unit at CW in Lake City Fl. Great store. - Charlie_D_ExplorerFind out where the local residential AC guys buy their parts from. You will find a capacitor there. Bring the old one in and they will match it.
- Dutch_12078Explorer IIIf nothing else, there are hard start kits that replace the OEM capacitor and lower the starting load as well.
- Isaac-1ExplorerRun, don't walk about from any shop that tells you this. If the ratings match you can use any brand of capacitor, it should even be fairly easy to find on that matches close to the original size and shape. Ebay and other online vendors will be the cheapest, in the town where I live capacitors sell for 6 to 8 times more than they do online for a $5 online capacitor will sell for $30+ here.
- GulfcoastExplorer.
- MEXICOWANDERERExplorerI started using modestly higher than name plate uf and higher voltage capacitors back in the early 80's
- SidecarFlipExplorer IIISo long as the specs match, case size and shape have nothing to do with it other than will they fit...
- aruba5erExplorersomeone lies. Any motor shop or electronics store will have them. If you can't find exact then close is good enough.

MY 1997 Damon Intruder 32 FT class A had the rear A/C unit stop working. It doesn't come on but the fan function works fine. I think the start capacitor has failed. Every shop wants to sell me a new A/C unit and tell me that they don't make capacitors for the Coleman that old. Anyone know how I cam find a proper replacement ?
Read the size of the Cap,, then go to e-bay.
