This cable has cut resistant insulation. Cut open the middle of welding cable after 3-years. The copper strands will be brown or purple. This stuff stays shiny copper. The tin coating on marine wire is thin and turns dark. The tin on this stuff is thicker and stays bright. Welding cable is designed to be cheap because in industrial use it gets damaged. The price of this stuff is about HALF of welding cable. I don't buy "Chew & Spit" heavy cable or lugs.
