Welding cable is NOT good wire. It's not tinned and you can dang near slash the insulation with a butter knife. FLEXIBLE is what welders demand. The wire is going to be replaced every few years anyway. Check the voltage rating on welding cable. Is it 2,000 volts? Having your flexible and durable qualities usually means EXPENSIVE. Some of my Space Shuttle refit wire was sold for seventeen dollars an INCH. Ouch! Cheapskate bought it for fifty cents a POUND.
