My Dometic Dilema

I noticed my performance going to pot last winter. had to crank the setting all the way up just to get by.

I was the one who asked a question about the install of the exhaust fan. Got all the trash out of the vent and coils and the fan is installed and running. With nothing in the frige and it on all night it was still setting on 38 this am.

Any suggestions on what to keep checking for?

how about that thing that clips on the frige fins and can be slid up and down?

I am at a loss here.

thanx
  • thanks Biscuit, as i recall that thermister is not at the right height. I will be taking your info out to the barn and work with it.

I am using a frige freezer thermometer that sets inside the unit. I will change it out with the house one today just for grins.

we will see and i will post back.
  • Where are you taking temp measurements.....38*F where Freezer or Food Compartment?

How are you measuring temps......thermometer in glass of water or what?

    Food compartment 38*F is GREAT

Empty fridge is not ideal way too cool because there is no MASS to absorb/hold cold----empty box gets warm every time you open door

Water bottles help hold cool temps

    Thermistor....
    Temp sensor for fridge thermostat

IF you can select different temp set points on upper panel (1-5) then thermistor should be on FAR Right fin in food compartment MID Position (tip of thermistor just protruding above top of clip)

IF you can NOT make temp setting adjustments (Auto Temp Control) then thermistor should be on FAR Right fin in food compartment and you can make MINOR temp adjustments (4*F-6*F) in food compartment temps
    Move Clip UP for COLDER
    Move Clip DOWN for WARMER
