Speaking of solar, now that I am down to 130w, and way up on batt capaoity at 715AH or so, I wonder if I even need a solar controller for my 130w trickle charger panel :) :)
(I did run a test to see if the panel draws anything at night with no controller hooked up. Nope. So it seems true that the "by-pass" diodes are also good in the "blocking" diode role, as was discussed in other threads on that topic)
Well, the old and slow guy has found that all China Cheapo PWM controllers are not alike. The 20a no name controller I'm using is drawing from the batt at night. For all it's worth it's set on number 16. So I've ordered one just like 'RJ the fisher man' is using. $16 from EBay. The cost of mine was IIRC $12. It does charge to suit me. What is strange to me, is the fact that I have no load connected, so guess it's the panel drawing. Me thinks these controllers are for street light use only. The little paper that came with it says 'No load losses' 5mA. I da know, Morningstar, or, I might be coming to see you with egg on de face.:(
