Thank you -I agree. It would be too expensive to have a separate line to make an "inferior" Walmart battery.

I personally use Dekas. I am not a WM basher, I'm in there at least 3 times a week. Suppliers build products to their customers specs, and WM is known for crushing their suppliers profit margins if they want to sell to WM. I am always amazed at the reaction here to the simplest comment. I only posted this so people would know they can get a freaking battery at HD geeeeeeeezzzzzzzzz!

On edit I see where I did say crappy WM brands. I should have said crappy WM batteries. And they are, in my opinion.

Excide does not have the best reputation in the battery business.. Kind of 1/Trojan as it were,

I just put in a new pair of Dekas Way too much money but frankly.. I may well not live long enough to do it again). Deka is still MADE IN THE USA.

It would cost a battery manufacturer far more to make a separate (inferior) battery for Walmart verses everybody else. However-different colored plastic casings and adhesive stickers are cheap!

Buy your next (same) one from Costco - or First Interstate, or?....if it makes you feel better..:C

May also now supply GM (AC Delco) - as Johnson bought out Delphi.

Exide:
Exide - (scroll to bottom of "History") - for bankruptcy info.
Also, beside the plant closures, Exide has "new" problems (closures, lawsuits, lead contamination in air/ground at their CA battery recycling facility).
Doesn't look like a rosy future.

Exide, Johnson Controls.

They may mfg their products in Mexico & other countries.

Johnson Controls = good financial condition.
Delphi (AC Delco)- *was* one of the big 3, was acquired by Johnson.
Exide = not too good. Recent plant closures, 2 recent bankruptcies.

That crowed* (crowded) WalMart is 'cause smart battery shoppers are looking for an *inexpensive*, identical replacement for the battery their auto service dept would charge outrageou$ buck$ for!..:W
(*something to "crow" about, LOL)

Johnson Controls supplies batteries to WalMart, Sears, Costco, and....BMW !!,:B

As many posters have suggested....there are only a few companies that makes automotive batteries anymore.

My Walmart is always crowed....we could use a few less people shopping there! :)

Whether they are "branded" by/for WalMart, Sears, Costco, or various auto-parts stores, they are likely manufactured by.....
