My latest DIY on my 2014 Ram 2500 6.4L Hemi

LED bed lights for when I'm trying to see what's under the tonneau cover.

I used four of these LEDs from ebay.

Wired them up directly to the battery + and - and installed an in line fuse holder and blade type fuse right by the battery. Loomed all the wire and zip tied it up under the chassis. Installed a weather proof toggle switch on the inside of the bed on the drivers side.

I'm happy with how it turned out.

thanks for the link, I got two on the way

You're welcome. They are VERY bright. They sell them as daytime running lights (DRL) on ebay. Mine are pointed straight down, and they light up the entire bed with just the spill light.
  • That is pretty cool. Isn't Chevy now doing in-bed lighting? It is a good idea. Surprised it has taken this long for it to be an option from the factory. It is all about capturing more $$$ cash. Why let the aftermarket get it?

I have put extra dome lights in my fifth wheel basement. Those would have been kinda slick. May take a look at it. :C

Man I got lost in all the 12V leds on ebay. Can you give us a hint on how to locate them?

  • Pretty clever!
I may need to add some lighting in my truck box after seeing this.
