A bit of sun on the roof on a nice day will melt condensation and the results are obvious.
Ventilation is a must in the winter. Always keep a window and a roof vent cracked at least by 1/2 inch or so. This from ten years experience in our winters.
Be prepared with towels on the first warm sunny day.
