Myth that socket extensions change torque wrench readings

I have had mechanics and one person who builds competition airplanes swear that torque wrenches are inaccurate when an extension is added. To me, this flies in the face of the Action, Equal and Opposi...

Most of our torque specs are to equalize the bolts around a perimeter. Your better using any torque wrench including the old needle indicators than just guessing at you leaning with a 100 lbs of your weight at 1' from the stud.
