Myth that socket extensions change torque wrench readings

With 100 ft-lbs applied to the flexing extension and only 99.5 ft-lbs resistance supplied by the nut, something (i.e. the nut)has to be moving and will continue to move until the imbalance is gone and the system is static. We have always assumed the wrench to be turned on a parallel plane to the nut.
