You have PEX plumbing lines.........fancy plastic that does NOT collect calcium like an old metal pipe would.
Plugging can occur at the faucets....remove aerator on faucet and clean them up.
Turn on water (on board pump) and flush water thru faucet then install the aerator.
Cleaning of water heater is simple......remove drain plug, turn on water (on board pump) and let water flow into/out water heater, that will get the big stuff out. Then turn off pump and get a 'wand' from camping world etc. that connects to garden hose.....shove it in drain hole, turn on hose and blast away.
Basic RV water system

As for water softener.......
On-The-Go and FloPur are two of the portable styles. Basically the same units. So buy the one that is on sale
We have used the On-The-Go portable one for 6 yrs when ever we are in areas with hard water (CA, AZ, UT, NM, TX etc.)
Sure helps keep the scaling down on everything......faucets, toilet, shower, dishes, water heater--especially the electric element.

And stop paying that rip off RV outfit your hard earned $$$$$$$$
