I'm sorry I just thought about something. It was said that the air admittance is there for when I flush the grey water tank. What if I never do? Meaning the rig is parked and hooked up all the time. I just leave the grey water tank open. The black water tank I still use and flush daily.
That's not the only reason. If you block off that vent then the shower will not drain properly. It will fill up until the water is heavy enough to overcome the air bubble in the tank. Sometimes if the trailer is tilted just right it may drain fine. Think of dumping a full soda bottle and how the air needs to rush in to let the liquid out. Also I believe that is referred to as a wet vent.
