Need advise on water hoses for blk water & Sani Flush sysyem.

Checking other sources on this question but I value the answers on this website. Just purchased a 2016 Fleetwood Storm 28 MS with a Sani Flush system to clean out the black water tank. I know I have to use a specific hose and only that hose to attach to the inlet in order to flush out the black water tank. It sends a stream of water on the walls of the tank to clean it while I have the black water valve open. After that I close the valve, turn off the water and disconnect the hose. To fill the black water tank 1/4 full as it is recommended I need to flush the toilet many times with my foot. Can I just fill the black water tank with the Sani Flush hose on until it is 1/4 full? Also can I attach a Y shaped connector on the sites water supply to attach BOTH the main clean water hose and the Sani flush hose at the same time? Thank you all!

  • I use a white hose for fresh water and a gray hose for flushing. I don't like the Y connection idea. Check valves do fail...It takes 10 seconds to disconnect one hose and connect the other. All right, it might take 20 seconds.
I don't agree that you need the black tank 1/4 full after flushing. With my toilet all I have to do is hold down the foot pedal for a few seconds to fill the toilet bowl which I then dump. It wouldn't hurt to add a second bowl full. I don't know if that is equivalent to 1/4 full or not but seems to work well for us.
  • Sorry for the aside. But you did make me chuckle to see your Sani Flush system question posted in the Technology Corner? Maybe some day, it too will have its own OS and connected to WiFi? :B

Also reminded me that Google some years back introduced their broadband in a toilet - Google TiSP (BETA)? :W

  • Yes you can. It's your camper, you can use it any way you want.

Your black tank flusher has an in line check valve that prevents black water from coming "back" up into the hose. So, you can use any hose on the flusher.

Yes, you can fill your black tank with the flusher system too. As stated above, the reason is discouraged is because of getting distracted and filling your tank and backing up inside your camper and flooding it. But yes, you can do it if you want. It won't hurt anything.

Sure, just don't forget to keep an eye on it. I have read here on the Forum, over and over post from folks who got distracted with other chores forgot they were back-filling and flooded their rigs...
