The OP's dilemma is why our new trailer (picked up in a few weeks) will go straight to the CAT scale before I add a single thing to it. Then I can compare to brochure dry weight. Because the brochure only lists 1480 lbs. of cargo between dry and gross, the next stop will be an axle shop to switch the axles from 5200 to 6000. This is on a 36' 3" fifth wheel so 5200 is really pushing it. Since we like much else about the trailer, we'll put up with the extra cost. But, weight ratings and axle sizing in this industry is just ridiculous.
