The polarity inside the trailer may be just fine anyway. I'd bet there are 2 wires running to each device. The weird thing is a positive ground. Many years ago some cars used to do that.
In the end if the frame isn't used for current carrying it probably doesn't even matter. The frame is only underneath and not near the loads which are mounted in wood.
It would matter if a vehicle charging wire was hooked up and then you'd need move the frame connection to the negative side and rewire anything inside the trailer that is electrically connected to the frame (if there is anything).
