Why not just replace it with the same unit? I know there have been issues but I suspect mostly due to connections not being tightened or re-tightened.
Norcold has a reputation and folks still use them and replace them. Putting the same one back in makes things easy. Use some non oxidation lube on the wires and screws. Be sure the wires are either spotless clean or trimmed back if necessary. I replaced mine last year and took the old one apart. I am a Senior Certified Electronic tech with 50 years troubleshooting things like this and I am very satisfied with the build quality of the new ones. The circuit board in my old one died and it would not switch. I had kept the connections tight by checking every year. Mine is a 2008.
