need some reviews on a 'generac ix2000'

This website provides a general review of some 2000-3000 watt generators good for RVing and camping.

this generator is way louder than comparable inverter generators.
the Champion 2000 is much quieter and cheaper and better supported.
and you can parallel them.

I would buy a Harbor Freight Generator before the Generac.

And, I don't plan on buying a Harbor Freight Generator.

Too many stupid fixes on near-new units for me. QUALITY of noise is entirely different than db rating. For.instance the scraping of fingernails on a blackboard is much softer than a passage of Mozart.

I've never owned one.

I have a 5500-8500 Generac 11 hp Briggs that I bought new in oct '01. Can't help you on the noise level as this is a working gen set. Never had it camping nor would I want to hear it or camp near it.
Its been on top of LEQ horse trailers/flatdeck trailers/hanging under a front loader on straps in all kinds of weather and abuse running 24/7 even going down the road o n extended runs. I have no idea how many hours it has but its got to be a bunch.
It still starts the first pull. Can't get any better service that its given us.
